With bowed to the blood will flow on spatial.

CONCEPT PROGRESS

Meaning:-

According to recent studies today’s “western” concept of progress  can be traced back to the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries, especially during the European “Enlightenment”. However, much older cultures developed notions of progress (including the Roman and Greek civilizations).

Example:-
Plato (427 BC – 347 BC) developed a notion of progress as a continuous process, which improves the human condition from a state of nature to higher and higher levels of culture, economic organisation and political structure (towards an ideal state). Progress is linked to the rising complexity of society and the necessity to enlarge knowledge, through the development of sciences and arts. This process implies change and conflict and so needs to be governed properly.

Bacon (1561 –1626) can be considered is a precursor of the modern idea of progress. He felt that knowledge must be sub-servient to human happiness. So, progress in knowledge should lead to progress in well-being, and inventions should be useful for mankind’s fulfilment.

Thinkers in the late 18th Century searched for “laws of progress” that could describe the evolution of human societies through time. For example, Comte (1798 – 1857), the creator of positivism and altruism (the placing of others above self, of their interests above one’s own) literally created a church of followers and his influence carried as far as Latin America, where the famous Positivist movement maxim “Love as a principle and order as the basis; Progress as the goal” was the base for the dawn of the Brazilian Republic).

Narrative Paragraph

Meaning-
Narration paragraphs are most distinctively used in fiction. As such, they will contain all necessary components of action development: protagonist, setting, goal, obstacle, climax and resolution. Writing a narration paragraph requires, consequently, sequential order and chronology. There are many descriptive elements included into the body of a narration paragraph but, if composed correctly, the paragraph will feature much more action than depiction.

Example-

Larry suddenly woke up from a deep sleep. The sun was dazzling his half-open eyes, and he couldn’t figure out what time it was. The door to his room was closed; the house was immersed in some sort of reckless silence. He slowly got out of his bed and approached the bench right next to the window. For a moment, he thought, he heard a tapping sound coming from the attic. Then again he heard the sound, only this time it seemed to be somewhat closer. He looked outside the window and saw a man going by the left side of the road. On seeing Larry, the man approached his garden’s fence and whistled. At this point, Larry recognized Nick and waved his hand. He quickly got dressed and was about the get down to open the gate, but he again heard someone murmuring in the other part of the house. Larry decided to go to the attic and see what was causing this, now buzzing, sound. He got to the second floor of his house and looked toward the attic. He quickly opened its door and looked inside. Nothing was found. He was about to turn back and attend to his guest when he, suddenly, slipped on the stairs and fell. He called out to Nick to help him get up.

Elements of a Narrative Paragraph

Narrative paragraphs contain several regular elements:
  • Protagonist – in the above paragraph, the protagonist is Larry who is introduced at the very beginning of the story;
  • Setting – Larry’s house is the setting. From the paragraph, reader can learn about his bedroom (where he woke up), it is also clear that it’s a two-storey house with an attic, and a fenced garden;
  • Goal – the goal of the story is Nick visiting Larry;
  • Obstacle – what stops Larry from coming down, and earlier on, from concentrating on getting dressed are repeating bizarre sounds coming from all parts of the house;
  • Climax – Larry trying to check what was causing the sound;
  • Resolution – Larry falls from the stairs and calls out to Nick to help him get up.

Argumentative Paragraph

Meaning-The objective of a persuasive essay is to “win” the reader over to your side of an argument, while the primary objective of an argumentative essay is just to show that you have a valid argument, allowing the reader either to adopt your position or to “agree to disagree”.

Example-During the economy global crisis, Government should increase the salary of Indonesian House of Representative members. People who disagree with that proposal believe that it is not wise to increase the salary of them because there are a lot of poor people in this country. It is undeniable fact that is really happening, but there are also some reasons to improve the prosperity of Indonesian Representatives. Logically, when the prosperity and salary are enough, the tendency of being a corrupter would be lower. As we know, the salary is already much enough, but there are so many things that can tempt them to abuse their authority. Moreover, they need an appreciation for the big responsibility as representatives. Hard work and full dedication are highly demanded from them. Last, to accommodate public's aspiration in rural area, it needs extra money. Indonesia's area is very large and consist of many islands. They need to going by plane and hotel accommodation when meet people in remote places. For those reasons, government needs to increase the salary of representatives in order to improve their work.

Contrast Paragraph

Meaning- A Comparison or Contrast paragraph is a paragraph in which you either compare something or contrast something.  A comparison essay is an essay in which you emphasize the similarities, and a contrast essay is an essay in which you emphasize the differences.

Example-The Alcoholic Verses the Nonalcoholic

Alcoholism is a disease that the nonalcoholic has a hard time understanding, and the two lifestyles are quite different. The nonalcoholic has a lifestyle that involves family and friends. He enjoys going to family functions and interacting with his loved ones. In contrast, the alcoholic tries to avoid family functions unless alcohol is offered. Even then, the alcoholic is consumed with drinking rather than interacting with loved ones. If the nonalcoholic is lonely, he tends to seek out a family member or friend to talk to. He will find ways to fill the void of loneliness. However, when the alcoholic feels lonely, sad or angry, he turns to the alcohol to fulfill that void so he does not have to deal with his feelings. Disagreements with a nonalcoholic are often handled quite differently than with an alcoholic. As an example, a nonalcoholic may often walk away from an argument opting for a time to come back when both parties have had time to cool down. Because the disease of alcoholism has a detrimental effect on the judgment of the alcoholic, he may simply lash out relentlessly, not realizing his tactlessness and the hurt he is causing. Goals can be very different for the afflicted person. An unaffected person will set goals to ensure the basic necessities of life, whereas an alcoholic will orientate his goals to achieve a result that satisfies his needs for alcohol. To a nonalcoholic, family rates number one in his life. To the alcoholic, alcohol is number one in his life. The only conclusion that can be drawn is that alcohol is the single factor that consumes the life of an alcoholic.

Descriptive Paragraph

Meaning - The purpose of descriptive writing is to make our readers see, feel, and hear what we have seen, felt, and heard. Whether we're describing a person, a place, or a thing, our aim is to reveal a subject through vivid and carefully selected details.

Example - The Blond Guitar
My most valuable possession is an old, slightly warped blond guitar--the first instrument I taught myself how to play. It's nothing fancy, just a Madeira folk guitar, all scuffed and scratched and finger-printed. At the top is a bramble of copper-wound strings, each one hooked through the eye of a silver tuning key. The strings are stretched down a long, slim neck, its frets tarnished, the wood worn by years of fingers pressing chords and picking notes. The body of the Madeira is shaped like an enormous yellow pear, one that was slightly damaged in shipping. The blond wood has been chipped and gouged to gray, particularly where the pick guard fell off years ago. No, it's not a beautiful instrument, but it still lets me make music, and for that I will always treasure it.
